Criminal justice shouldn’t be applied haphazardly depending
on little more than geography, timing, or race. Last year, the
Supreme Court declared the death penalty unconstitutional citing
racial disparities and bias. Now, thanks to Senate leadership,
the legislature is closing the chapter on the death penalty in
Washington.
