Friends of WFP Response to Haiti Earthquake:

Website – posted info about WFP’s emergency response on our homepage both as a main flash feature and as a web update

WFP statement – posted on our site, distributed by WFP-DC, WFP-NY and Friends to all US-based media contacts (including top tier media, regional/local media, Haitian media, philanthropic beats, ag media, etc)

E-appeal – sent to all donors in our database, reflects WFP’s global messaging (we expect to send follow-up appeals in the days to come)

Corporate appeal – to be sent to targeted corporate partners

Off-line appeal – preparing to send an off-line appeal to all individual donors at all giving levels

Incoming calls and inquiries – handling calls and inquiries from donors

Direct mail – working on targeted emergency piece to be mailed on January 20th

Third-party websites – updating all Friends of WFP 3rd party website networks to reflect WFP’s response in Haiti

Social media/networking sites – call for donation and disaster update posted on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Friends blog

Facebook fundraising campaign – targeted Haiti campaign launched on Facebook Causes

Outreach to Haitian community – in addition to sending the WFP statement to Haitian media, we are in the process of sending our e-appeal to key contacts within the Haitian-American community in South Florida

InterAction – update on WFP emergency operation sent to InterAction, which is the primary source of information for US media during crisis situations (http://www.interaction.org/crisis-list/earthquake-haiti <http://www.interaction.org/crisis-list/earthquake-haiti> )

Volunteer outreach – will issue “crisis bulletin” to all volunteers and hold conference call with volunteer base

Hill and Administration outreach – will send update to Hill and Administration contacts in coordination with WFP-DC
