I have been listening to many NGOs, who on a daily basis are stepping all over each other. Yet, like we did with Project Medishare, when he bridge is built for cooperation, lasting relationships are possible. I am not so naive as to think it will be permanent, but over the short and even mid-term, we can do more together than apart. I am convinced having seen the last 2 weeks of constant cooperation and communication on personnel, supplies and cargo transport, particularly since the military has been unhelpful on air and sea lift capacity. We must do this ourselves, with the cooperation of vetted and committed organizations. Surely, however, this is not a novel thought

Let me know what you think, but I am thinking of gathering a meeting of the leading NGOs who are working in Haiti. Do u think this would work or be productive? I think there are so many common interests/problems and we are going to have a hard road ahead. We ae not going to be able to rely on effective military or government assistance. Cooperative strategies can only maximize our potential, understanding there will always be parochial interests.
