I met with Michael Huerta, a founder of Bright Path Energy (www.brightpathenergy.com) yesterday. They're a solar merchant bank and fundless sponsor arranging primarily big box and manufacturing facility solar installs. They just closed a $10mm deal last week with GE equipment and GE equity financing in Delaware. They basically arranged for the manufacturing facility to install the panels on their roof and cut their energy costs by 40%. I'll get a deal briefing memo but thought it was interesting as a real world example of these deals actually getting done, plus the Delaware factor. Could be a model to apply to the real estate portfolio as well. But the main point is if their rag tag operation is actually closing deals with GE then we should be raising $'s right now.
