Yes - just finished up a long conversation with her (at her request) - played dumb when she told me they said no. Told her very nicely that people should come here and that she needs to give a better read on the reality of the situation and set expectations. She still insists that they were going to be a client. I told her that if they haven't signed a contract, these meetings are clearly pitch meetings and we need to treat them as such and then just evaluate if it is worth your time before scheduling. She'll never understand how to accurately evaluate potential clients because I said, "just tell Hunter or me before scheduling that they are even 80% likely to be a client but I think it is worth going up and we can close the deal if you go." and she said, "But I wouldn't have said that because they said they were going to be a client." Clearly they never said that but that is what she hears. Maybe we should also think about scheduling a pre-call with me (or you) on the call so that we can "translate" what is said. She so desparately wants to bring in this business by herself (and she's been good so far with just a few hiccups) that we (I) just need to do a better job on the evaluation once she's teed it up. Btw, she agrees that bringing them here makes sense (although says someone like Izzy would never had come here). I think even if we get the number two guy to come in many cases that might close the deal. Enough time spent on this. As we said, lessons learned. Eric D.
