Dear Friends,


As you may be aware, the Middle School was briefly placed in lockdown
this morning at the request of the United States Secret Service. This
decision was based upon reports of an incident near the National
Cathedral. While many rumors have been circulating, both the Secret
Service and the Metropolitan Police have now confirmed that there never
was any threat to the students or employees of Sidwell Friends. The
School is no longer in lockdown and the day is proceeding normally.
