Guys- Talked to our contact in New York State yesterday. He will unfortunately be leading a delegation to China and Taiwan and will be out of the country the week Ormazabal will be in the States. He said he could try and arrange meetings for them that week, but he’s not confident that we will get the reception and attention we want if he is out of the office. He’ll be back in the office on Monday the 19th and if Ormazabal is able to extend their visit through the 19th he could arrange a better visit for them. He said he would hope that besides himself, he could arrange meetings with the Lt. Governor and the CEO of NYPA their schedules permitting. He said that we should make the initial contacts at GE but he might be able to help if we have problems. In an ideal world, perhaps we could arrange something with GE on that Friday and then they will already be in New York for the weekend and ready to meet on Monday. The one caveat Sam gave me was that the level of meetings would depend on our job creation numbers. That’s the metric they look at in determining if it is worth officials’ time to meet. We may get further questions on these numbers. Not sure what their notional schedule would be like but it may make sense to have Ormazabal go to Oregon first (pending Iberdrola’s availability) then come to the east coast and spend Wednesday in DC, Thursday in DE and Friday in NY to see GE (since they are upstate) then stay the weekend and do meetings in NYC on Monday. Thoughts? Best, Eric Eric D.
