Dear Hunter: I hope you are well. I wanted to provide you with follow up from the meeting with Jim Harmon and two of his colleagues today. Jim is a terrific guy and Nancy felt the time was well worth it, which is super. Here are the key take-aways: 1. Jim expressed concern generally about approaching Wall Street based on the market conditions and the frequency that they are asks for philanthropic support from countless organizations. 2. Jim felt that the younger generation of leaders across all industries were best suited to get involved and give. 3. Jim felt strongly that we needed to keep a close eye on the rise of wealth in the developing world and that US wealth is on the decline. 4. A key recommendation was to focus investor interest on specific projects (e.g., erradicating malnutrition in Bangledesh ala Project Laser Beam). 5. Jim felt that connecting with Debbie, both on the investment strategies as well as the Women's Council, would be right on target. Here's our prelim action plan from this meeting: 1. Engage Jim and his team by asking them to review the investment strategies documents (I have sent to them), which they had not seen before the meeting. 2. Involve his team and leverage their expertise in Bangledesh by having them participate in some way on Project Laser Bean. 3. Continue to shop these ideas - asking them to offer suggestions on others who could offer good insights - given how early we are in developing an appealing approach for the financial community. (I take a some exception to the notion that Wall Street is suffering from financial crisis). 4. Connect with Debbie Harmon on investment ideas and Women's Council (discuss with you on strategy). Let's talk soon to review next steps! Am working on finalizing meeting with Peter Ackerman on March 29. Thanks again Hunter! Regards, Anya Anya T.
