This is the group Reed heads that we are meeting with tomorrow. It is Maggie, Reed, the GC of the Group and a couple of staffers of Maggie's. http://www.coalitionforgreencapital.com/index.html The Coalition for Green Capital is a consortium of leaders in energy development enterprises including renewable resource developers, original equipment manufacturers, investors, financial advisers and consultants dedicated to the stimulus of green energy assets for clean and sustainable energy and jobs, and economic development. The Green Bank concept, alternatively known as the Green Energy Lending Authority (GELA), would provide loan guarantees and other financing tools for energy retrofit and conventional clean energy generation projects. Leveraged investment in retrofit projects as well as conventional clean energy technologies such as wind, solar, biomass and natural gas are the most effective ways to stimulate immediate job creation in pre-existing industries. There is a great opportunity to pass this legislation (whether in the Senate Jobs Bill, a second House Jobs Bill or a Senate Energy and Environment Bill) and to start creating jobs immediately. We believe that a critical part of any effective job creation mechanism is the establishment of a taxpayer owned, non-profit, private corporation that would be created with the speed of a private sector start-up. We believe that only a private company will be able to move with the speed and flexibility necessary to bring a program like this to scale and to create millions of jobs in a very short period of time. The Green Bank/GELA would operate with the openness and transparency that accompanies any public company, while also being free from the administrative burdens with which a government funding authority would have to contend. Members The CGC is comprised of Reed Hundt, President and Former Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, Todd Filsinger, Executive Chairman of the Board and Treasurer and PA Consulting Group and Monty Humble, Secretary.
