We have just finished celebrating Black History Month. Note should be made of the fact that as a part of the last week of the month-long celebration we marked the 64th anniversary of the death of Saint Katharine Drexel, a native Philadelphian and the foundress of the Sister of the Blessed Sacrament for Indians and Colored People. Her missionary efforts in this country were supported in many ways by the trust which was left to her and her two sisters by their father, the patriarch of one of the wealthiest families in the States. The work of St. Katharine's community continues in many sectors of the Midwest and the South. "Go, sell what you have, and give to the poor . . ."
